Nissan is shaking up the compact crossover scene with a mid-cycle refresh for its beloved Rogue, scheduled for release in the 2024 model year. While it’s customary for such updates to bring new fascia designs and tweaks to taillights, the 2024 Rogue boasts more than just a cosmetic facelift. The real transformation takes place inside the cabin.
On the higher-tier SL and Platinum grades, you’ll find a spacious 12.3-inch screen for the infotainment system, marking a significant advancement with the inclusion of built-in Google. In a groundbreaking move for Nissan, this integration means that popular Google apps like Google Assistant and Google Maps are seamlessly woven into the Rogue’s experience. No need to pair or plug in your phone—these apps are fully integrated, allowing you to make calls, send texts, browse media files, and discover numerous points of interest effortlessly.
As a cherry on top, the Rogue features the Google Play app store, giving owners the flexibility to explore and install additional apps to suit their preferences. And that’s not all—built-in Amazon Alexa is also part of the package for the Rogue’s SL and Platinum grades.
However, for the Rogue’s lower-tier S and SV grades, the built-in Google experience is omitted, and they come equipped solely with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Unlike General Motors, which is transitioning away from Apple CarPlay as it embraces built-in Google, Nissan ensures that the Rogue still caters to both Apple and Android users across its trim levels.
In terms of powertrain, the 2024 Rogue retains its existing setup. The U.S. market exclusively offers a 1.5-liter turbo-3 engine, delivering a robust 201 hp, albeit paired with a CVT transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but all-wheel drive remains an available option for those seeking enhanced traction.
The revamped 2024 Nissan Rogue is set to hit the U.S. market in early 2024, with pricing details to be disclosed closer to the launch date. For those in other regions where the Rogue is known as the X-Trail, expect to see similar updates gracing the X-Trail’s lineup. Nissan’s commitment to innovation ensures that the Rogue remains a compelling choice in the compact crossover segment.
